Our Story

Topps Digital Services (TDS) offers a unique approach to gift card processing and program management specifically tailored to the meet the needs of high-growth online and app-based brands. This comprehensive solution allows clients to own a world-class omni-channel gift card or code program in order to solve payment challenges globally, drive incremental revenue and increase customer acquisition, without the costs and burden on internal teams typically associated with a successful program.

In 2002 TDS, originally GMG Entertainment, was founded. In 2007-2008, Jeff Mickeal and Tim Pechmann shifted the focus of the business to connect the emerging digital currency category with the traditional retail world via gift card insight and management. They developed a global processing solution for digital brands, making it easy for brands to quickly and easily realize the benefits of gift cards at traditional retailers without any in-house expertise or disruption to internal teams.

In 2011, GMG Entertainment was acquired by The Topps Company, in partnership with Michael Eisner (the former Disney CEO) and Madison Dearborn Partners, and became Topps Digital Services.

Topps Digital Services is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, with 10 additional offices worldwide to serve clients’ global payment needs. Clients include many of today’s leading digital brands including: Netflix, Uber, DoorDash, Instacart, Hulu, Nike, Twitch, Airbnb, StubHub and more!
